Introducing the “Law Student Perspective” and
“Things Not Taught in Law School” Series
In addition to posting our regularly scheduled blogs on legal education reform, we will be introducing two new series. First, the “Law Student Perspective” series will focus on the thoughts and opinions of law students, as they pertain to legal education reform. We encourage students from any law school to submit prospective blogs for approval—as guest bloggers. Second, the “Things Not Taught in Law School” series will be based upon the 2009 book, The New Lawyer’s Handbook: 101 Things They Don’t Teach You In Law School, authored by Karen Thalacker. Periodically, we will take one of the subjects from this book and blog about how it affects legal education and whether reform can address the subject.
We hope you comment on blogs and offer your own thoughts. We look forward to brining you these two new series and hope you will enjoy them.

DeleteI have been reading a book by Alan Watson, The Shame of American Legal Education. It is a very interesting perspective on how others in the world view our American system of educating lawyers...and our failure in doing so. As a law student myself, I must admit I am very disappointed in, as Watson notes, the "failure to convey information" and "actual misinforming the law student about the law". I hope what we are seeing here, at Legal Pedagogy, is the first of what will be a much needed seismic shift in American legal education.
